MARGARET BRANDMAN’S 2020 PRESENTATION FOR KCC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GROUP – ONLINE WORKSHOP

2020 June 4, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Musical Decoding – The Da Vinci Code of Music

In this online workshop, Margaret will show how to develop strategies to decode a piece of music. Decoding is an important tool as it develops good sight readers, allows teachers to work out how to teach a piece of music and provides a toolbox for students to effectively learn new pieces. This session will look at a range of repertoire and decoding strategies.

The Musical Tool Box

In preparing for this lecture/workshop, Margaret has created an extensive Music Tool Box resource for teachers. An index of all 87 tools is attached to this email for free and Margaret will be using various tools over the course of the session. There are some sample pages of full resource also attached.

The full, 38-page resource is available for purchase for $35. Contact Margaret Brandman to arrange purchase.
